The Friendship Meme

When it comes to my Second Life, the people are truly what makes it a special place for me. And for that reason, this post will have absolutely nothing to do about fashion. Instead, I snapped this photo of me and Mrs Roxley as we went dancing at Toby's Juke Joint Blues.

Originally, I wanted us to take a proper fashion shot together as I've been wanting to fill out the "Friendship Meme" by Strawberry Singh. But I came to realize... That would have looked too fake. This is the real us. The silly, crazy and music addicted people that we are. 

What is the number of contacts on your Second Life Friends List?

Penny:54

Liz: 74

Are you picky about who you add to your list or do you usually add most people?

Penny: I wouldn't say picky, but I'm usually not the person to add just everyone. If I add someone right away, it's probably someone I've met through another friend, or while hosting.

Liz: Picky about friends.... but I also ad staff and people i'm hiring temporarily.

Who is your oldest contact? (check your calling cards)

Penny: My answer to this won't be exactly right, since I cleaned up my calling cards some months ago, due to people leaving SL etc. But according to them, my oldest contact is Leandro Gunner. Mwah.

Liz: A guy named Ronald Rexie who took me to a jazz club when I was full blown NEWB. Old linden avi and everything

Who is your newest contact? (check your calling cards)

Penny: Newest contact is Lawrence Pryce. Fellow blogger who'll (when I get my lazy bum off the SL couch) join me in a post some time soon (again, see lazy bum comment)

Liz: Samstha Resident. A new host to hire :D

Do you know every single person on your list?

Penny: No. Probably not as well as I'd like. Oops :)

Liz: Other then the first hello, no lol.

How many do you speak to on a daily (weekly) basis?

Penny: I'd say I probably speak to between 5-7 daily. If not on Second Life, then through other ways.

Liz: Daily I would say about 3 to 5 and weekly maybe about 10 to 15.

How many do you see/get together with in-world on a daily(weekly) basis?

Penny: Ouch that's a tougher one. I try to see my SL friends as often as is possible, even if it's just to go dance, or hang out while shopping.

Liz: In a club I hang with about 5-8. At my house only about 2 or 3 at a time. We be lazy pixels

Who on your list do you have the closest relationship with?

Penny: Having known him since my very beginning in SL, Thomas Fetters knows everything there is to know about me. Even all the boring stuff, and I promise there's a lot of that.

Liz: My Partner Ehren Roxley......He kinda stole my heart. 

Who do you wish you knew better?

Penny: Picking one seems impossible. But I'm gonna go with Faylinn Britton. I've already gotten to talk a lot with her, but I'm comsidering this question as more of a "Whose brain would you like to pick?" type of thing ^^

Liz: Hmmmmm this is a toughy. Erm......well i have 1 linden lab friend who is SO interesting to hear his work adventures in sl. 

Maybe more of those elite linden avis to keep the fun stories coming and be the cool girl with friends in high places :D

Who on your list is the funniest/most entertaining?

Penny: Well if Liz and Ehren were ONE person, I'd chose that. When those two are in the same room, no one is safe!

Liz: Hands down my partner ehren......big reason why I'm with the dude. He is funnnaaaaay.

How did you meet most of the people on your list?

Penny: If we go by how I met MOST of them, it's been through hosting. How I've met the best of them, is through other friends and random encounters.

Liz: I like to chat. Most have been from me saying hi 

to them randomly being all nosy, or thru mutual friends.

Do you ever clean out your list?

Penny: Yes, I do. Regularly. As far as it's possible, I prefer the people on my list to be ones I actually speak and interact with as often as possible. So if neither myself of the other person makes that effort, then I delete them.

Liz: Yes. Not often though. If i havent talk to the person in a few weeks...BAM gone. 

Do you have a crush on someone in your list?

Penny: *blushes* Well yes, yes I do...

Liz: Duh.....EHREN!

Is there anyone on your list that you would trust with your password?

Penny: Let's see. Given access to my inventory, Liz would try everything on. Ehren would rename every folder, and Thomas would probably try to fix the chaos before I got back. So yeah... Why not?

Liz: Yes. Ehren and Penny :D

Hello Darkness My Old Friend

A friend of mine told me, "Penny.. You're always dressing bright like sunshine", and the devil took a hold of me and whispered, "We'll show her!"

Now that we're getting near the end of The Dark Style fair, it has become increasingly easier to enter, and that's what I did. I actually found more stuff I liked than I thought I would.  Whether I want to or not, I'll have to admit my friend might be right.

I rarely dress "dark", but it's not because I don't like it.. I think it's more likely because I see a lot more bright stuff the places where I usually shop. So if you're into the punk/goth/rock scene, or just love tattoos (seriously I saw a lot of those), then you have until the 7th of June to get your butt to the Dark Style Fair.

"So Penny?..."

"Does that mean you won't be blogging cute stuff anymore?"

Who do you think I am?

Of course I will... Buttery Toast have just released the "Butterfly Fly Away" wings. And since there is a black version, I felt like it deserved a spot in this post. You can be dark and cute at the same time, right?

If you feel like black wings are outside your comfort zone, then it's lucky they are available in blue, green and pink as well, all sold with a colour HUD that will let you change the inner wings and ribbon strands.

Mama Toast has also made some big changes in her mainstore, so if you haven't been there yet, it's really about time.

Look Mom! A Horse! (Introducing Ianto)

Though I have never been very good at saying anything about myself, I think I shall give it a try. *clears his throat, looking around himself rather awkwardly before continuing*

Hey there, my name is Ianto and I am a whovian and an alt-aholic. Well, that, and one that creates too many looks for those avis I do have. Though I have been in SL for closer to seven years now, this is the first time ever I've attempted to write for a blog, so I hope you'll excuse me if I at times ramble, I have a bad habit of doing that, and, fitting for a blog, I have a very bad habit of seeing something, getting the feeling of "I wanna" and eventually coming up with an excuse to buy said item, even if it means making a whole new look for the third time in that month. So, without further ado, on to the subject of avi looks.

This all started from an entertaining idea for a roleplay character I was tossing about with a friend. On my search for random armor bits I came across the one in the image. a beautifully crafted and textured armor designed for the KOT Centaur. I had never really done a centaur before, which was all I truly needed as an excuse. 

The centaur is extremely easy to wear, coming in many different colours and the armor fits it more or less like a glove, yet as the rest of the avatar looked rather naked with the mass of armor I went for another hunt. As luck would have it, the Fantasy Gacha Fair was in town, creating yet another fantastic excuse for wasting lindens. This event is one I try to remember each year, and often do remember it just as it is closing, yet that usually means you actually get in without having to stalk from the next sim over, as it is very, very popular, and for a good reason. For this look I got myself the nordic bracers from [geek.], which is just one of the many stores in this event. The final weapons harness is from yet another store, DPD, I frequent with plenty of "I wanna" feelings towards everything they have created, and whom also are present at the Gacha Event. 

All in all, this bit of rant could be summed up in. Visit the Fantasy Gacha while it is still open, there are tons of fantastic stores there offering their best and if you can, do sometimes follow the feeling of "I wanna". You never know what your imagination can come up with. :)

Boobs, Butts, Puppets & Princesses

It took a while before I was introduced to events in Second Life. I remember hearing about the
Arcade in December last year, and how it was impossible to get it.
Honestly, the whole thing seemed silly to me. The image of a mob waiting outside a store, waiting for the doors to open crossed my mind.
But here I am.. I'm one of you. XD

We've got two events and a special princess to talk about today.

Boobs, Butts and Beyond is a charity event for those who wishes to help the fight against
breast cancer. Each designer will create at least one item where either 100 or 50 percent of the  sale goes to "Breast Cancer Action" and after little over a week, 100k have already been donated.
Our amazing Glo from *Bubblefish* has joined in and created a lot of stunning clothes for this event,one of them being this cute pink bikini. 
And, as with everything at the BBB event, it's applier friendly, so if you've got some Lola's or Azz's on that avi of yours, this is the bikini for you.
You've still got until the end of month to get your various bodyparts there :) 

Another event I'd recommend you stop by, is the Funny Puppet Fair. 
Take a stroll around this colourful little town and shop your heart out. I know I did.
Out of all the stuff I got there, my new little green friend is probably my favourite. He'll follow you around, sit on your head, cuddle up in your arms or sit quietly on a shelf if you want him to. It's
all up to you, and there are of course a lot more colours than green to choose from.

And last, but certainly not least.. Our Princess.
Mama Toast has given us her newest, 100 percent original mesh creation in the form of a princess wand.
I mean.. how cute is that on a scale from "Swing!" to "Aaaaaye"?
I absolutely love it.
If you're unlike me, and are able to chose easily, then there are 4 duo packs available for 100L each.
However, if you resemble me in any way.. then you'll want to go for the fatpack.
250L and you'll get a HUD that lets you change the colour of everything, making sure you have
a wand that is special to you.

If Ten Million Fireflies Lit Up the World as I Fell Asleep..

I felt very lucky, finally being able to get into the Fantasy Gatcha Carnival, and I'm sure it'll surprise those who know me that I was very well behaved.

Normally, having me around gatcha machines is a distaster waiting to happen. Lindens flying around everywhere. There is no stopping me really.

This time, I took my time.. thought about what I wanted to add to the blog, and gathered inspiration.

It started with the Fireflies pose. As soon as I saw that, I knew what direction I wanted to take, and went for items to compliment it. 

Now.. if I could just add the same level of selfcontrol when it comes to the Marketplace, then I'd save a whole lot of money.

Nothing Tastes as good as Cute Feels

Have you ever had someone ask you, "If you could travel to any point in time, where would you go?"
And in that case, what would your answer be?

I can tell you mine.
There is no doubt in my mind that I'd go see an actual 50's diner. Not the fancy remakes we see 
in this day and age, but to actually go back to the Fifties and see if it's as awesome as it looks.

So when I went to this round at Collabor88, I was beyond thrilled. VINTAGE.EVERWHERE!
I knew I wanted to make a blog post with some of these items, but what ended up happening,
was a complete transformation of my kitchen.
They say home is where the heart is.. but the kitchen is where the bacon's at, so that's where'll
