Thank God, It's Sundae..

Okay.. few things to clear up before we continue.. Yes, I know it's only Thursday and yes, I know that's not a sundae ^^

However, I did have a lot of trouble deciding on the title for this blogpost. So much I actually waited a day writing it. I don't know why I can't just write the post itself and then come up with the title afterwards. *shakes my head*

We may never know.

And to be fair.. There IS ice cream in the picture AND today we have another day of the week. The weekend is approaching and I'll be spending it with family.

Something I'm extremely pleased with when visiting family, is the option of stepping into the garden and enjoy the chilly breezes while still being in the comfort of somewhere familiar. Living in an apartment, I sadly spend too much time indoors during these extremely hot months, cooling myself down with tons of ice cubes.

And ice cream... seriously, I LOVE ice cream. Call it my guilty pleasure.. call it unhealthy. You know what? Call it whatever you like.. I call it freaking delicious! XD

It's one of those things that can always cheer me up... Hmm, that's not exactly the best way to feel better is it? Oh well.. It remains yummy.

But we'll step away from the ice cream for now, and I'll look forward to a short weekend visit at my brother's house, playing Monopoly and eating steaks fresh off the grill.

Give Me Love Like Her

Second Life is big big place.. Always new places to see, always new items to purchase, always new people to meet. I don't meet as many people as I used to, to be honest.

These days, I'm either taking pictures, writing, hanging out with my fiancé and/or friends or shopping. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before in a former blog post, and yet I've done very little to change it up.

But then again, sometimes I can't but wonder... why change it up? The people I have around me make every day in Second Life an absolute joy.

Faylinn is one of those people.

It's fun to think sometimes, that had I not applied to blog for .:Buttery Toast:. would I then even have got to know such a wonderful human being?

Chances are that I would not... But thankfully, things worked out the way they have, and she's a freaking pleasure to be in proximity of. ♥

She's also one of my favourite go-to people when it comes to excessive shopping.. especially when it comes to events. This time, we both went mental at the new round of Kustom9 and ended up drooling over the shirt and skirts by [MotiAme]. They come in a bunch of colours that you can mix and match as you please.

Another new favourite of mine from this round, is the glasses from .tgs. where the hud will allow you to change the lenses.. As much as I love the various options, I did end up going for clear though as I felt it was the most appropriate for this look.

Peaches & Jam

When I first joined Second Life, and went freebie and group gift shopping (cause that was my only option), I got pretty much anything I could get my hands on. Lots of colours, lots of different items on at once... Lot and lots and lots.

As I started being able to actually purchase items, black and white became frequent colours in my inventory. You can never go wrong with a black dress, ya know?

At the same time, I started wearing less items. Simple became something I felt most comfortable with and still is to this day.

I read a lot of other blogs, and I can't help but being incredibly impressed when I see someone being able to match 10 different pieces of accessories without it looking like a huge mess.

Once in a while, I will attempt to accessorize in such a fashion, even Lady Gaga should be jealous. But truth be told, it never ends up looking like the magazines.

And even though I've managed to stumble away a bit from all the black and white, then simple is still my jam..

Jam.. That reminds me of something..

Oh yes.. the new .:Buttery Toast:. Group gift!

One of the things I'm really impressed by on this dress, is the shadowing. The folds and wrinkles are absolutely spot on, and the thin gold belt stands out without being overpowering. XD

In The Name Of Cats

This post have absolutely nothing to do with cats.. Or does it? I don't know.

And THAT's the point of this post. Stuff we know squat about!

That's right, there are actually things, besides dancing, that I, Penny Décor, know nothing of. Inconceivable, I know!

Okay, time for me to get off the high horse and be real for a minute ^^

One of the, many to be honest, things I know nothing, or very little about, is Manga. So when Faylinn came to me and told me about the items she was making for July's Manga fair, I must have looked like a giant questionmark. Thank God we're in SL and she couldn't actually see my puzzled expression.

Now, I HAVE heard the word Manga before, and had a vague idea what it was about. I knew it was most likely Japanese (check), that is had something to do with cartoons (check).. and right about there, my knowledge on the matter ceased to exists.

What to do, what to do? I asked myself and turned to my good friend Google. I had to know... What is this Manga? What does it do? Is there a secret handshake?

I will say this. One thing I found very interesting, is that when you see Manga inspired characters out there, they are usually very bright and colourful, but printed Manga comics are most often to be drawn in black and white.

Really don't know why I found that fact to be as interesting as I do... Maybe we'll find the answer to that in another post.

However, if you are a Manga fan, or you simply enjoy cute and colourful clothes and accessories, then you don't wanna let this fair slip through your hands. You've got all of July to visit, and .:Buttery Toast:. will be right there to greet you with not just one, but two items!

First is the ”In The Name Of Cats” collar and cuffs. You've got 7 different colours to choose from, and yet I went with pink... again. I'm beginning to think I have a problem ^^

Secondly, you have the necklaces. These come in a Otaku, Kawaii or Meow version, each in 3 different colours. The one I chose, is teal as I found the contrast with the pink to be quite pretty.

Now, I'll happily admit that I had no freaking idea what Otaku meant, so once again I had to turn to Google.

Apparently, there's a few definitions of the word, depending on your culture, but all in all it comes down to being quite the fan /geek when it comes to this hobby. But according to google, calling someone Otaku in Japan is an insult, so you might wanna refrain from calling someone that.

Mad City

I often come across sims that simply take my breath away. May it be because of the colours, creativity,
or the warped mind that the creator must have. It's impressive to say the least.
Mad City is one of these places. 
As you take a stroll down the streets in the dark and the rain, and you look at the stores, you realize just how much work
goes into these places to create the proper mood or tone.
Now, I'm one of those people who find the pouring rain and streets lit up by signs and lampposts only, extremely romantic.. 
So while it might be a mad city, it's certainly also full of a warmth we can thank the MadPea Production for.

Also.. While you're there, you might as well join the Lost Mine Hunt. A point and click game in beautiful sorrounding and 
with fabulous prices at the end. Well worth the time and 150L you have to spend on the HUD that is required to play.
